In their first-ever appearance at the WGI World Championships, the MBI Winter Drumline placed 9th in the Independent Marching Open class competition. The drumline scored an 80.45. This is a great achievement for any unit in its first year of competition. Congrats to Ann, Joel, Nick and the rest of instructors and members!
On June 7, Minne-Brass will be collaborating with Northdale Middle School which is a charter school in the North Metro. Micheal Neis, MBI Member, is a technology specialist with this school.
All proceeds from the golf tournament will benefit the school's ability to integrate technology into their classrooms with students.
A portion of Minne-Brass will be providing music for the tournament which has a silent auction and registration starting at 3pm, with the golf beginning at 4:30pm.
The fundraiser is being held at the professionally played Bunker Hills Golf Course.
Come out and support Northdale Technology and Minne-Brass. Sign up as an individual, or sign up a team.
More details can be found in this Brochure.

The Minnesota Brass winter drumline is launching the Checkered Flag Campaign. We are looking for donations from members, fans and alumni to help us get to the finish line in style with our race inspired theme. We made patches with the 2008 "Ignition!" Show logo on it. For a minimum of a $10 donation, I will send you an iron-on patch that you can put on your corps or other jacket to show your support of this ambitious undertaking. We need to come up with about $2000 to cover our WGI expenses, so any donation will help.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 19, 2008
During the summer of 2008 the St. Cloud State University College of Continuing Studies will offer a new academic course: MUSM 495 / 595 Minnesota Brass Summer Music Workshop.
For the first time both undergraduate and graduate academic credit will be available for members who successfully participate with the 2008 Minnesota Brass Drum & Bugle Corps.
In addition to earning college credit, corps members taking the class will also have the unique option to have their final project posted on the St. Cloud State University Department of Music web site as an educational resource for other musicians in the drum corps community.
Course instructor Glen Tuomaala explains, "This is a smart option for band directors in the corps to earn continuing education credit, or for an undergraduate student to have the opportunity for their work to be published online at St. Cloud State University."

Recently, the Desktop group at General Mills, Inc. took on the task of completing a project called Operation Holiday Cheer. Included in the boxes were meat snacks, cheese, fruit, candy, chips, and fleece caps – many of which were hand-crafted through the generosity of the support staff of Minnesota Brass, Inc.

Minnesota Brass is proud to present our 2008 program entitled Obsessions.
Obsessions are the forces that drive our lives. Obsessions shape our thoughts, dreams, and desires. They may be positive or negative, helpful or destructive, but they are always powerful. In our 62nd year we will explore four common obsessions that many share:
